What will a call-out cost?
Want a ballpark before you commit? Put in the square footage of the area you'd need covered. Every property still gets a firm price once you've submitted it. This is just so you know roughly where you land.
Driveways, parking lots, walkways, stairs and entries: whatever you want us covering. Not sure? A single walkway, stairs and an entry is usually 2,000 to 4,000 sq ft.

This is a ballpark, not a quote. Access for a plow, how much of it is hand work, curbs and complexities: they all move the number. Salting and de-icing are quoted on the day based on conditions, so call us by 5 pm the day of if you need it. Send us the property and we'll price it properly, well before winter.
Need some backup for salting only? We can be your backup for salting too, but the property has to be loaded first. Salting-only properties go through the same steps: get annual Premium and submit the property so we can map it. Salting is quoted on the day based on conditions, and you need to call us by 5 pm the day of at (604) 330-2168 if you need the service. When you call, we’ll quote the salting and send you a direct, secure payment link. Once it’s paid, we start organizing dispatch.

Questions providers ask
How much does it cost?
Annual Premium is $129.99 for the 2026/27 season, our launch-season price. It’s your insurance: your properties are mapped and priced in advance, and we keep a crew ready to cover you all season. It includes up to 5 properties. Additional properties are $29.99 each. Snow removal is billed per call-out at the price we quoted for that property, so there's no figure to discover mid-storm. Salting and de-icing are quoted on the day, and you need to call us by 5 pm the day of. You only pay for call-outs you actually make.
Do you do salting?
Yes, including salting only. The property still needs to be loaded first, the same way as any other: get annual Premium and submit it so we can map it. Salting is quoted on the day based on conditions, and you need to call us by 5 pm the day of at (604) 330-2168 if you need the service.
Is this subcontracting?
No. A subcontractor works under your name, on your paperwork, as an extension of your crew. Backup Squad attends as Shovel Squad performing an on-demand job on a property you've flagged, and then we're done. It's coverage you call on, not staff you hire.
Will you go after my client?
No. We service the site you flag and we leave. Keeping your contract intact is the entire point of the service. A single storm's work isn't worth losing a provider who calls us every winter.
How fast can you get there?
Properties already mapped and priced in our system are ready to go. You, or whoever is minding the phone, call it in and we send a direct, secure payment link. Once it's paid, we start organizing dispatch right away and try to get a crew out as soon as possible.
Can you cover my properties while I'm away?
Yes, that's one of the most common reasons providers sign up. Once your properties are mapped and priced, they're covered whether you're on the route or on a beach.
Is there a minimum?
No. There's no minimum and no commitment beyond the annual membership. You pay per job, only for the work you actually call in. If you never call, you've spent $129.99 on a winter of not worrying about it.
What can you cover?
Parking lots, driveways, sidewalks and walkways, stairs and entryways, plus salting and de-icing. Take all of it, or just the half you're short on. Lots of providers use us for walks and entries only, because that's the part that needs people rather than iron.
Can I sign up just for one storm?
No. The most useful part of this service is having dependable backup, and that takes preparation and keeping it in place all season long. It's not something that can be turned on and off.
